Explore the eastern section of the Mutianyu Great Wall by chairlift and toboggan. Please note that the chairlift and toboggan often have long queues during the summer peak season. We recommend taking the chairlift up to Watchtower 6, hiking along the Wall to Watchtower 20, then returning to Watchtower 6 to enjoy the exciting toboggan ride back down.

You don’t need to meet anyone at the Great Wall.
What time can I enter the Great Wall?
You can enter by yourself from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
What is a good time to leave from the city?
We recommend leaving at 6:30–7:00 AM to avoid long queues.
Can I take the cable car up and the toboggan slide down?
No, you can’t. Your ticket is for the chairlift up and the toboggan down. Chairlift and toboggan slide tickets cannot be used for the cable car.
Can I take the toboggan slide down on a rainy or snowy day?
No. The toboggan slide does not operate on rainy or snowy days. In such weather, visitors must take the chairlift down.
Are people over 60 allowed to use the slide?
People over 60 are not allowed to use the slide; please take the chairlift down instead.
What is the best way to get to the Great Wall?
The best way to get to the Great Wall is to book a car with a driver online, which costs around 700 CNY for a round trip. You can also take a Didi, but it can sometimes be difficult to find a return ride from the Wall.”
